It’s the Big Game this Sunday and I couldn’t be more excited! Not because I’m a massive football fan, but because I love traditions.
Our yearly game-day tradition began while I was in college. I was finishing up a work-shift when my friend messaged me: “want to come watch the big game?” I assumed he was a big football fan and since I had always made an annual habit of watching, I agreed. Little did I know, we’d inexplicably be “watching it” on a 19-inch black & white TV at a nearly inaudible volume.
Each year since, we’ve gotten together with our spouses to make ridiculous bets on matters we don’t understand, enjoy a few drinks, and eat as many appetizers as possible… Oh, and enjoy the game at a normal volume on a full size colour TV! 😉
If you’re planning on hosting a game-day party this Sunday, I’ve got you covered! Over the years I’ve enjoyed everything from traditional wings & nachos to the more adventurous buffalo chicken poutine and bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers, so I am well-versed in game-day food!
To help make your menu planning simple, I’ve pulled together some of my go-to game-day appetizers, each featuring a fabulous locally grown ingredient! I hope your home team enjoys them as much as my team does!
